چکیده

Carbon microand nanostructures has received widespread interest recently due to their potential applications in biomedical devices, chemical sensors, and microelectronics. In this work, we successfully fabricated carbon-micro and nano electromechanical systems (CMEMS/NEMS) by UV/EB lithography and pyrolysis method. Our starting material is a negative photoresist, SU-8. We tried to solve charging problem by forming a thin metal layer before EB writing using various methods, such as EB evaporation, sputtering system and thermal evaporation. By partly depositing a thin layer of a metal to prevent the repelling of negative charged electrons, we have successfully formed various suspended carbon structures, such as bridges and networks.

From MEMS to NEMS with carbon.

Our work in carbon-microelectromechanical systems (C-MEMS) suggests that C-MEMS might provide a very interesting material and microfabrication approach to battery miniaturization, active DNA arrays and a wide variety of chemical and biological sensors. In C-MEMS, photoresist is patterned by photolithography and subsequently pyrolyzed at high-temperatures in an oxygen-free environment. We establ...

C-MEMS and C-NEMS

Our work in carbon-microelectromechanical systems (C-MEMS) suggests that C-MEMS might provide a very interesting material and microfabrication solution to the battery miniaturization problem, active DNA arrays and a wide variety of chemical and biological sensors. We established that it is possible to use C-MEMS to create very high aspect ratio carbon structures (e.g. posts with an aspect ratio...

In Situ Formation of SiC/CNT Ceramic Nanocomposite by Phenolic Pyrolysis

In this research, using pyrolysis of phenolic resin in the presence of silicon particles, the SiC ceramic composite is formed. The samples were prepared by introducing 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 wt% of Si particles to the phenolic resin. The samples were cured at 180°C then carbonized at 1100°C. The final carbonized C/Si composites are hot-pressed at 1500°C in inert atmosphere, which is more than th...

The effect of substrate temperature on fabrication of one-dimensional nanostructures of Tellurium

Tellurium nanostructures have been prepared by physical vapor deposition method in a tube furnace. The experiments were carried out under argon gas flow at a pressure of 1 mbar. Tellurium powder was evaporated by heating at 350°C and 430°C and was condensed on substrates at 110–250°C, in the downstream of argon gas flow. The products were characterized by field emission scanning electron micros...
